Joe, son of Rev. Kenny and Mrs. Debbie Wood, grew up in the home of a Baptist minister in Elkin, NC. He graduated from East Wilkes High School and then pursued a degree in Meteorology from UNC Charlotte. During his first year of college, he felt God calling him into ministry. While at a service at Pleasant Hill on October 14, 2012, he was under deep conviction and surrendered that day to God's calling upon his life
