Pastor James D. (Danny) Dodds and his wife Cathy are both
natives of Mississippi. They were married in 1973, and have two
grown children, Tyler and Jennifer. Tyler and his wife Baily
reside in Midland, Texas. Tyler is an itinerant worship leader
and music evangelist. He also operates his own web-design
business and music studio. Jennifer is pursuing a career in the medical field,
and is married to Shannon Philley, who has chosen the Marine
Corp as his vocation. They reside in Richlands,
North Carolina, and have a son, Matthew, who is eleven.
Pastor Danny
accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1978 and soon afterwards
surrendered to full time Christian service. He was licensed and
ordained into the gospel ministry by Pearl Hill Baptist Church
in 1979. Since then Danny has served as the pastor of churches
in Mississippi and Louisiana. Additionally, during two of his
pastorates, Danny served as Evangelism Chairman for the local
Baptist Association. He also served a two-year term on the Board
of the Mississippi Baptist State Convention.
Danny began his
education at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He
continued studying at Covington Theological Seminary where he
received a Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry. In 2001, Danny
returned to seminary and earned a Master’s Degree in Ministry
from Southwest Bible College and Seminary.
Danny continues
to serve the Lord and His people as pastor of Pleasant Hill
Baptist Church in Elkin, North Carolina, where he was called in
April 2006.
