January 2009
What a wonderful (and fast moving) year we’ve had in the children’s department! Highlights have included snow-tubing, cookouts, camp, our trip to Kentucky, biking, Biltmore Estate at Christmas and more. We also enjoyed visiting nursing homes and shut-ins of our area, recognizing our senior adults in November, and working with the PB&J Ministry. Also, God really blessed our efforts in the Navajo Christmas Project. In the end we were able to send ten large tubs filled with toys, blankets, scarves, gloves, candy and other goods much needed by the Navajo children. Look for pictures of this project in our department. Thanks to everyone who supported us financially and prayerfully for this mission project which was dedicated in honor/memory of Monty Carter. Also, thanks to Geri Gilliam’s mom, Mrs. Celia Jones for the beautiful hand-crocheted blankets. They were beautiful and a true work of heart! Mrs. Pat Robinson, thank you for the gorgeous snow flake ornaments you made for each of the children. They were delighted to receive them! Again church, we are thankful to you for your support. Please pray for each worker and student of our department that God will be exalted in all that we do and that more of our children will accept Christ in 2009. Happy New Year! Mark
